As the United States of America is the world’s greatest power, affecting and determining the fate of the planet: why shouldn’t we have the chance to vote for their-our President too?

So, just like in 2004, we have organized the AMERICAN ELECTIONS FOR NON AMERICANS, in Italy, in a little Tuscan town called La California, in the Province of Livorno (how to get to La California)

VOTING IS OPEN TO ALL, not only to residents, and will take place on SUNDAY 26 OCTOBER, ten days before the elections in the United States, FROM 2 PM TO 8 PM (programme of events)

You can vote in person in La California’s main square, with real polling boxes and voting forms, and also on out website (vote)

In our elections, you can vote not only for the two main official American candidates (Obama and McCain), but also for independent local candidates, and, in general, for anybody at all, with no limit on nationality, because there is a WHOEVER YOU LIKE section (the 2008 candidates)

The voting forms will then be delivered to the AMERICAN CONSULATE IN FLORENCE, as happened in 2004. Yes indeed, because we did the same thing four years ago, when it was Bush V. Kerry, and NEARLY 2000 PEOPLE voted.

NOTE: Even Are we all American? Is suffering from the current financial crisis, and as a result it will be more streamlined this year, without live music and entertainment. Even if music, food and wine will not be altogether forgone, this year we will be focusing on the voting itself and the hustings of the seven local candidates. There will also be a box for donations.

So once again, it’s: ANDATE AL MARE, ANDATE A VOTARE! (COME TO THE SEASIDE; COME AND VOTE)
